Sherry Turkle is a sociologist, psychologist, and author who studies the social and psychological effects of technology on people's relationships, creativity, and productivity. She is the Abby Rockefeller Mauzé Professor of the Social Studies of Science and Technology at MIT, the founding director of the MIT Initiative on Technology and Self, and the author of several books, including The Empathy Diaries: A Memoir and Reclaiming Conversation: The Power of Talk in a Digital Age.
Sherry Turkle (born June 18, 1948) is an American sociologist. She is the Abby Rockefeller Mauzé Professor of the Social Studies of Science and Technology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She obtained a BA in social studies and later a PhD in sociology and personality psychology at Harvard University.
