Satchel Paige was an American professional baseball pitcher who played in Negro league and Major League Baseball. He was the oldest and the first black player to pitch in the American League and the World Series. He was also the first player who had played in the Negro leagues to pitch in the World Series. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1971.
