The Royal Staff Corps was a corps of the British Army responsible for military engineering which was founded in c. 1800 and disbanded in c. 1837. At the time, the Royal Engineers and Corps of Royal Sappers and Miners were administered as part of the Board of Ordnance.
He left the same school in 1836 with the rank of second lieutenant. Then he completed his training with a course at the Royal Staff Corps Demonstration School (école d'application du Corps royal d'état-major) from January 1, 1837. [2] On January 23, 1839, he became lieutenant of the Staff Corps.
