Lady Rose Bowes-Lyon was the third daughter of 14th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne by his wife, Nina Cecilia, and an elder sister of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother. On 24 May 1916, she married The Hon. William Leveson-Gower, later the 4th Earl Granville.
The son of Vice-Admiral William Leveson-Gower, 4th Earl Granville, and his wife Lady Rose Bowes-Lyon, a daughter of Claude Bowes-Lyon, 14th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne, he was educated at Eton College. [1]
