Ronald Coifman's research interests include: nonlinear Fourier analysis, wavelet theory, singular integrals, numerical analysis and scattering theory, real and complex analysis; new mathematical tools for efficient computation and transcriptions of physical data, with applications to numerical analysis, feature extraction recognition and denoising.

  5. 10 de mai. de 2021 · Ronald Coifman, a tenured faculty member and a pioneer of harmonic analysis, has been appointed the Sterling Professor of Mathematics at Yale, effective April 17. He has made fundamental contributions to pure mathematics, leading the field in adapting to the capabilities of the digital computer and developing tools for science and technology.
