Robert Graves was an English poet, historical novelist and critic. He wrote more than 140 works in his lifetime, including poems, translations, memoirs and novels. He was also a prominent translator of Classical Latin and Greek texts. He served in the First World War and was wounded at the Battle of the Somme.
