Ryngold, The Grand Duke of Lithuania, postcard 1920. Ryngold or Ringaudas was a mythological Grand Duke of Lithuania from the Palemonids legends and supposed father of Mindaugas, the first King of Lithuania (1251–1263). In fact, there is nothing known about Mindaugas' father from reliable sources.

15 de jul. de 2009 · The man of consequence in that respect is said to have been the son of the renowned leader Ringaudas. But Ringaudas, in the opinion of most scholars, is nothing more than legend. There is no proof of his, or anyone else’s, paternity to Mindaugas – the man of interest here.
He succeeded Ringaudas [after 1219] as ŽIVINBUDAS Grand Duke of Lithuania. m---. The name of Ž ivinbudas's wife is not known. Živinbudas & his wife had five children: 1. TRAIDENIS [Troiden] (-[1282]). The primary source which confirms his parentage has not yet been identified.
