A Oncologia é a especialidade médica que estuda as neoplasias, ou tumores, benignas ou malignas. A origem da palavra vem do grego onkos, que significa volume, que sabemos atualmente ser causado pelo acúmulo de células cancerosas em regiões do organismo.
