Oldway Mansion, Paignton Pier George Soudon Bridgman was an architect and civil engineer, active in the late 19th century in Torquay , Devon and the local area. [2] He is best known for his work in the seaside resort of Paignton , designing Oldway Mansion and Paignton Pier within that town, as well as designing the sea wall and promenade at Paignton Beach.

Oldway Mansion is a large house and gardens in Paignton, in Devon. It was built as a private residence for Isaac Merritt Singer (1811–1875), and rebuilt by his third son Paris Singer with no lack of ambition in the style of the Palace of Versailles.
12 de set. de 2018 · Oldway Mansion is a grade II listed building set within 19.5 acres of stunning grounds and within a short walking distance of Preston seafront. Once the private residence of the famous Singer family, the mansion and gardens are steeped in fascinating history and still contain some remnants of its former grandeur.
The c 7ha site comprises formal gardens around Oldway mansion, with informal pleasure grounds to the east and south, and around Little Oldway to the north-west. The boundaries of the pleasure grounds have altered little since the original purchase by Singer in 1870, but a group of buildings which stood on Fernham Road (formerly Fernham Street), to the east of the mansion, had been cleared by 1900.
