People online do it but it’s not a publicly owned mountain and you are directly violating the law by climbing outside of climbing season. I understand the allure of Mt. Fuji but consider checking out other areas of Japan, which are great for hiking and much more amenable to a hike of that length. Kamikochi, etc.
