Robert Oxton Bolt CBE (15 August 1924 – 20 February 1995) was an English playwright and a two-time Oscar -winning screenwriter, known for writing the screenplays for Lawrence of Arabia, Doctor Zhivago, and A Man for All Seasons, the latter two of which won him the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay .
Atkinson was born in Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire, England, and she attended Millfield School in Somerset. At Millfield, Atkinson was trained by swimming coach Paddy Garratt. As a 15-year-old, she represented England at the 1974 British Commonwealth Games in Christchurch , New Zealand , where she reached the finals of the women's 100-metre butterfly and 4×100-metre medley relay events.
The school was partly self- sufficient complete with two meadows, cultivated land and a herd of cows and some pigs. The children were taught trades; the boys, tailoring, shoe making and carpentry; the girls, housework, needlework and laundering. In 1913 the school closed and by the beginning of World War I housed Belgian refugees.
Colin Ronald Michael Atkinson CBE (23 July 1931 – 25 June 1991) was an English first-class cricketer, schoolmaster and the headmaster of Millfield School. Education [ edit ] Born at Thornaby , Yorkshire, Atkinson was educated at St. Mary's Grammar School, Hummersknott, Darlington and later at Durham University , where he studied history, Latin, and English.
Tanner attended Millfield School. Cycling career. Tanner became a British team champion after winning the team sprint Championship at the 2020 British National Track Championships with Blaine Ridge-Davis. She had previously finished second in 2019. In 2021, Tanner won team sprint bronze at the UCI Track World Championships in Roubaix, France.
