Anne married Michael Parsons, 6th Earl of Rosse, on 19 September 1935. Rosse had extensive estates in Ireland and was nicknamed "The Adonis of the Peerage". They had two sons and five grandchildren: Brendan Parsons, 7th Earl of Rosse (born 21 October 1936), who married Alison Cooke-Hurle on 15 October 1966

Laurence Michael Harvey Parsons, 6th Earl of Rosse was born on 28 September 1906. 1 He was the son of William Edward Parsons, 5th Earl of Rosse and Frances Lois Lister-Kaye. 1 He married Anne Messel, daughter of Lt.-Col. Leonard Charles Rudolph Messel and Maud Frances Sambourne, on 19 September 1935. 1 He died on 1 July 1979 at age 72. 3
The Hon. Desmond Parsons was the younger brother of Michael, the 6th Earl. He was born in 1910, studied at Oxford. Good looking and charming, he was also a brilliant linguist and in 1934 he went to China where his friend Harold Acton was already in the Beijing lecturing at Peking National University.
Arms: Gules, three Leopards’ Faces Or. Crest: A Halbert’s Head Or, imbrued proper. Supporters: On either side an Ounce Argent, palette, gorged with a Collar Gules. Earl of Rosse is a title that has been created twice in the Peerage of Ireland, both times for the Parsons family.
