Michael Jung is the leading eventing athlete of his generation. Riding his faithful mount La Biosthetique Sam, he successfully defended his Olympic individual eventing title at Rio 2016, where he also pocketed team silver with Germany, having helped them win gold in London four years earlier.

Michael Jung (born 31 July 1982) is a German equestrian who competes in eventing and show jumping. A three-time Olympic gold medallist, he won individual and team gold at the 2012 London Olympics , followed by individual gold and team silver at the 2016 Rio Olympics .
