  2. As early as 1958, the two schools joined forces to compete in Virginia High School League athletic competitions and form clubs. In 1959 our school opened as Lee-Davis High School. In 2020 the Hanover County School Board voted to change the school’s name to Mechanicsville High School.

The Mechanicsville High School FFA Chapter recently qualified for the national organization’s career and leadership development event this fall in Indianapolis where they will compete for national honors in the nursery and landscaping category.
