13 de mar. de 2024 · Mary Welch was born in 1875, ten years after the end of the Civil War. She grew up in Burrton, KS and lived in Hutchinson, KS for most of her life. Welch graduated from the University of Kansas in 1898 with degree in painting. She also studied under prominent landscape painter Birger Sandzen and her works greatly reflect Sandzen’s style.

Mary was born in Bayonne, New Jersey and has lived in Bayonne as well as Boynton Beach, Florida as well as Stuart, Florida. She graduated from Montclair State College (1944) with a degree in History.

By most accounts she was an attractive woman, lively, diminutive and curvaceous; although some disliked her (some members of the Wordsworth circle, having failed to fall under her spell, called her large-chinned and -nosed, dumpy and tiresome.
