Mary de Bohun (c. 1369/70 – 4 June 1394) was the first wife of Henry Bolingbroke, Earl of Northampton and Hereford and the mother of King Henry V. Mary was never queen, as she died before her husband came to the throne as Henry IV.
Mary de Bohun, daughter and co-heir of Humphrey de Bohun, earl of Hereford and Essex, married Henry Bolingbroke, but died a few years before he became king of England as Henry IV. Henry then married Joanna of Navarre (c. 1370–1437).
14 de jun. de 2019 · Mary de Bohun was the second daughter of Humphrey de Bohun, the 7 th Earl of Hereford, and his wife Joan Fitzalan. She was born some time around 1369 or 1370, approximately three years after her older sister Eleanor. When Mary was just three years old her father died, aged just 31.
12 de nov. de 2021 · Gaunt’s son and heir, Henry, Earl of Northampton and Derby and known by the courtesy title of Bolingbroke, had probably known Mary de Bohun since their childhood. Gaunt purchased the right for Henry to marry Mary for five thousand marks (£3333), a sum which King Richard II owed him for his services overseas.
6 de nov. de 2015 · She was abducted from the convent by her future father-in-law John of Gaunt, a brother of Thomas of Woodstock. She was married to his son Henry, the future Henry IV on 27 July 1380 at Arundel Castle. She was just 12 years old.
