Magdalene College (/ ˈ m ɔː d l ɪ n / MAWD-lin) is a constituent college of the University of Cambridge. The college was founded in 1428 as a Benedictine hostel, in time coming to be known as Buckingham College , before being refounded in 1542 as the College of St Mary Magdalene .

The College of St Mary Magdalene is located in the centre of Cambridge beside the River Cam. The College is closed to all public visitors and non-resident Members from Monday 24 April until Saturday 17 June for the Easter Term exam period.

Magdalene College has the advantage of an attractive and convenient location on the banks of the River Cam, with the longest waterfront of all the Cambridge Colleges, and less than five minutes’ walk from the city centre.
