Mac Gollehon bio. New York’s Trumpet Player Mac Gollehon was born in North Carolina. He began playing the guitar at age 10 in blues and “uptown bands”. His father Joe Gollehon was a trumpet player of natural ability and tone quality similar to Billy Butterfield. He also started Mac on the trumpet around that time.
