Lugoj (Romanian pronunciation:; Hungarian: Lugos; German: Lugosch; Slovak: Lugoš; Serbian: Лугош, romanized: Lugoš; Turkish: Logoş) is a city in Timiș County, Romania. The Timiș River divides the city into two halves, the so-called "Romanian Lugoj" that spreads on the right bank and the "German Lugoj" on the left bank.

Lugoj, city, Timiș județ (county), western Romania, on the banks of the Timiș River, 33 miles (53 km) east-southeast of Timișoara and almost 220 miles (350 km) northwest of Bucharest. The town grew up on the site of a Roman fortified camp, which in turn was built near a Dacian fortress of the 1st.
