  2. 6 de abr. de 2024 · The man who came closest was Louis-Gabriel Suchet. Born in Lyons in 1770, Suchet joined the army following the French Revolution. He first came to General Bonaparte’s attention at the Siege of Toulon in 1793, where he led a valiant attack against an enemy battery.
