London beat Paris in the final round of voting by 54 votes to 50. This marks the first time that a city will host the Olympic Games for the third time.

ISTANBUL Out of 33 venues, 17 (51.5%) existing venues will be used, with a further 16 (48.5%) additional venues required for the Olympic Games, of which 11 will be permanent.
