  2. Leonora Christina, Countess Ulfeldt, born "Countess Leonora Christina Christiansdatter" til Slesvig og Holsten (8 July 1621 – 16 March 1698), was the daughter of King Christian IV of Denmark and wife of Steward of the Realm, traitor Count Corfitz Ulfeldt.

  3. Leonora Christina Ulfeldt was a beloved daughter of King Christian IV of Denmark and Kirsten Munk, whose autobiography Jammers Minde is a highlight of Danish literary history. At the age of nine, she was betrothed and in 1636 married to Corfitz Ulfeldt, by whom she bore ten children between 1637 and 1651.

  4. Leonora Christina was a favourite of Christian IV but, soon after his death in 1648, she and Corfitz Ulfeldt came into conflict with Frederik III and, not least, with Queen Sophie Amalie. The couple fled to Sweden in 1651 and took part in conspiracies against the Danish government.

  6. Married to Corfitz Ulfeldt, Leonora Christina was imprisoned from 1663 to 1685 in the Blue Tower of Copenhagen Castle for presumed knowledge of her husband's treachery. When Christian V came to the throne in 1670, the conditions of her imprisonment were improved and she was given books and writing materials.
