L’objectif de l’école est la réalisation d’un jeune théâtre de création, porteur de langages où le jeu physique du comédien est central. L’acte de création est suscité de manière permanente, principalement à travers l’improvisation, première trace de toute écriture.

École internationale de théâtre Jacques Lecoq is a school of physical theatre previously located on Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Denis in the 10th arrondissement of Paris. In May of 2023 the school announced its departure from Paris and relocation to Avignon , where its next season training would commence that autumn.
SCHOOL HISTORY On December 5th, 1956, Jacques Lecoq founded the school in Paris. In 1976 the school moved into « Le Central », previously a gymnasium, which became a well-known boxing center in the beginning of the 20th century. The space, built in 1876, was located 57

Em 1956, ele voltou a Paris para abrir sua escola, École internationale do teatro Jacques Lecoq, onde passou a maior parte do tempo até sua morte, atuando como orador internacional e doador de master class para a União de Teatros da Europa. A escola acabou sendo transferida para o Le Central em 1976.
Jacques Lecoq (15 December 1921 – 19 January 1999) was a French stage actor and acting movement coach. He was best known for his teaching methods in physical theatre, movement, and mime which he taught at the school he founded in Paris known as École internationale de théâtre Jacques Lecoq.
