Julia Margaret Cameron, née le 11 juin 1815 à Calcutta et morte le 26 janvier 1879 à Ceylan, est une artiste photographe britannique, surtout connue pour ses portraits de célébrités de son temps. Elle réalisa aussi des illustrations photographiques inspirées par la peinture préraphaélite anglaise.

Julia Margaret Cameron (born June 11, 1815, Calcutta, India—died January 26, 1879, Kalutara, Ceylon [now Sri Lanka]) was a British photographer who is considered one of the greatest portrait photographers of the 19th century. Artistic Beginnings. Julia Margaret Cameron was born in Calcutta, India in 1815. Her father, James Pattle, was a judge of the Calcutta High Court during British rule. She and her six spirited sisters grew up comfortably as prominent members of Anglo-Indian society. In 1838 she married Charles Hay Cameron, a distinguished jurist and legal reformer.

Watts wrote to Cameron: Please do not send me valuable mounted copies… send me any… defective unmounted impressions, I shall be able to judge just as well & shall be just as much charmed with success & shall not feel that I am taking money from you.
