John Leveson-Gower, 1st Earl Gower, PC (10 August 1694 – 25 December 1754) was an English Tory politician and peer who twice served as Lord Privy Seal from 1742 to 1743 and 1744 to 1754.
John Leveson-Gower was Tory MP for Newcastle-under-Lyme, 1692–1703. He was created Baron Gower of Sittenham in the County of York on 16 March 1703. He was made member of the Privy Council from 1702 to 1707, and he was appointed Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster from 1702 to 1706. He was Commissioner of the Union in 1706.

1700-1723. Sir John Leveson-Gower became a peer, establishing a landed dynasty with its base at Trentham Hall in Staffordshire. Through politics, commercial success and judicial marriages, the dynasty increased its wealth and influence in Staffordshire and beyond.
