Richard Leveson-Gower (30 April 1726 – 19 October 1753) was the fourth son of John Leveson-Gower, 1st Earl Gower and a member of the Leveson-Gower family. He served as Member of Parliament for Lichfield from 1747 until his death, aged 27.
"John Leveson-Gower, 1st Baron Gower PC (1675–1709) was the son of Sir William Leveson-Gower, 4th Baronet and his wife Jane Granville. He was born on 7 January 1675 in Stittenham, Yorkshire. His maternal grandparents were John Granville, 1st Earl of Bath and his wife Jane Wyche, daughter of Sir Peter Wyche."

Leveson-Gower was born on 25 February 1838 in the prominent Leveson-Gower family. He was the son of William Leveson-Gower of Titsey Place and Emily Josephine Eliza (née Doyle) Leveson-Gower. He was a great-great grandson of John Leveson-Gower, 1st Earl Gower, descending from his youngest son, John Leveson-Gower, a Royal Navy officer.

His mother was the daughter of Chandos Leigh, 1st Baron Leigh and sister of Sir Edward Chandos Leigh QC and James Wentworth Leigh .
