  1. Admiral Sir John Borlase Warren, 1st Baronet GCB GCH PC (2 September 1753 – 27 February 1822) was a British Royal Navy officer, diplomat and politician who sat in the House of Commons between 1774 and 1807. Naval career.

WARREN, Sir JOHN BORLASE, naval officer; b. 2 Sept. 1753 in Stapleford (Nottinghamshire), England, fourth son of John Borlase Warren and Bridget Rossell; m. 13 Dec. 1780 Caroline Clavering in London, and they had three daughters and two sons; d. 27 Feb. 1822 in Greenwich Hospital (London), England, while visiting Sir Richard Goodwin Keats.

  4. One son, John Borlase, went on to become a Vice-Admiral in the British navy. Sir John had extensive land holdings in Sillahertane, Kilgarvan, County Kerry where he held up to three thousand acres. Sir John Borlase Warren died just a few months after his brother on the 4 th of December 1863.

  5. Biography. As Member for Great Marlow on his own interest from 1774, Warren had deserted government because they did not advance him in his profession. From 1781, when he sold his Marlow estate, he sulked, and did not seek re-election in 1784.
