He has been a member of Sebastopol’s Palm Drive Hospital staff, a director in the local chamber of commerce, a director for the regional Redwood Empire Dental Association, and a trustee for the Sonoma County Community Foundation.

While in Florida, he became principal chief of the Apalachee or Apalachicola Indians. During the First Seminole War (1814-1815), he achieved a certain level of distinction by serving as a guide to General Andrew Jackson.
7 de ago. de 2023 · Chief John Blount served as a guide and fought alongside Andrew Jackson’s troops with more than 1,000 Creek warriors in the decisive battle of the Red Stick War at Horseshoe Bend in March 1814. Chief Blount’s wife and three of his children were killed.
When Sir John Blount I was born in 1298, in Sodington, Worcestershire, England, his father, Sir Walter Le Blount, was 29 and his mother, Johanna Soddington, was 25. He had at least 2 sons with Eleonor Beauchamp. He died on 8 March 1358, in Mamble, Worcestershire, England, at the age of 60.
In 1374, John Blount gave to "his brother" Walter Blount land from the Mountjoy inheritance. And it should noted that the Blount family was later granted the title of Lord Mountjoy. There is no actual evidence in the way of deeds, charters, grants, or land ownership that Eleanor Beauchamp was the mother of Walter Blount, or that a Blount-Beauchamp marriage even occurred.
