John Allen Amos Jr. (born December 27, 1939) is an American actor. He is best known for his role as the adult Kunta Kinte in the landmark miniseries Roots and for portraying James Evans Sr. on the CBS television series Good Times.
John Amos is an African-American actor who starred in Good Times, Roots, Coming to America and more. He has also written and directed plays and films, and has two children and four grandchildren.
