22 de jan. de 2021 · Jim Thome, who stands alongside Aaron as one of nine players to ever hit 600 home runs, shared a statement. As the baseball world mourned the death of Hank Aaron on Friday, another one of the game’s all-time home-run heroes offered his own remembrance.

But, hey, it was issued in the heart of the Junk Wax Era, even if it came in those funny little plastic packs instead of real wax.
And as he moved up the all-time lists, Thome savored the journey. He visited the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown with his father, Chuck, in August of 2008 to donate the ball he hit for his 500th career home run on Sept. 16, 2007. When he retired, Thome had totaled 1,583 runs scored, 612 home runs and 1,699 RBI.
Jim Thome played 22 seasons for 6 teams, including the Indians and White Sox. He had a .276 batting average, 2,328 hits, 612 home runs, 1,699 RBIs and 1,583 runs scored. He won 1 Comeback Player of the Year award and 1 Silver Slugger award. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2018.

25 de jul. de 2018 · Jim Thome hit only 101 of his 612 home runs in a Phillies uniform. He was with them for only 391 of his 2,543 career games and never played in a single postseason game here. Most players who spend that small amount of time in a place are franchise footnotes. Thome, of course, became something much more in Philadelphia.
