Jim Dale MBE (born James Smith; 15 August 1935) is an English actor, composer, director, narrator, singer and songwriter. In the United Kingdom he is known as a pop singer of the 1950s who became a leading actor at the National Theatre.
Jim Dale is a British-born performer who starred in the "Carry On" films, the Broadway show "Barnum" and the "Harry Potter" audio-books. He also wrote the lyrics to "Georgy Girl" and holds the Guinness World Record for most distinct characters voiced in an audio-book.
