Sir Jeremy James Farrar OBE FRCP FRS FMedSci (born 1 September 1961) is a British medical researcher who has served as Chief Scientist at the World Health Organization since 2023. He was previously the director of The Wellcome Trust from 2013 to 2023 and a professor of tropical medicine at the University of Oxford .

13 de dez. de 2022 · The World Health Organization (WHO) announces the appointment of Dr Jeremy Farrar, a clinician scientist and Director of the Wellcome Trust, as its new Chief Scientist, and Dr Amelia Latu, a Tongan Minister for Health and former Chief Nursing Officer, as its new Chief Nursing Officer. The two will join WHO in the second and first quarters of 2023, respectively, to oversee the Science Division and the Health Workforce Division.
