Jared Ingersoll (October 24, 1749 – October 31, 1822) was an American Founding Father, lawyer, and statesman from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was a delegate to the Continental Congress and a signer of the United States Constitution.
Jared Ingersoll died in 1822, leaving behind several children who would become only somewhat less prominent than their father. It was as Attorney General that Ingersoll served as an elected trustee and then as an ex-officio trustee of the University of the State of Pennsylvania before the 1791 union which led to the University of Pennsylvania.

He received an excellent education and graduated from Yale in 1766. He then oversaw the financial affairs of his father, who had relocated from New Haven to Philadelphia.
