Jack Joseph Dongarra FRS (born July 18, 1950) is an American computer scientist and mathematician. He is the American University Distinguished Professor of Computer Science in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department at the University of Tennessee.

Jack Dongarra is a pioneer of numerical algorithms and libraries for high performance computing. He developed EISPACK, LINPACK, NETLIB and other software packages that optimized matrix and linear algebra computations for various platforms and applications. He also created the BLAS and the TOP500 benchmark for comparing supercomputers.
