Isaac Toucey was born in Newtown, Connecticut, on November 15, 1796. He received a classical education, studied law and was admitted to the bar at Hartford, Connecticut, in 1818.
Isaac Toucey was born in 1796 in Newton, Massachusetts. He studied the law, was admitted to the state bar in 1818, and then established a law practice in Hartford, Connecticut. From 1821 to 1835, Toucey served as prosecuting attorney for Hartford County before being elected to the United States House of Representatives.
However, burial records of Cedar Hill Cemetery (at the cemetery, 453 Fairfield Ave., Hartford, CT 06114, phone 1-860-956-3311) show Isaac and Catherine Toucey to be buried in Section 1, Lot 1, along with Catherine’s relatives Emily Tisdale, Cyprian Nichols, and Mary Nichols.
