Hugo Geronimo Fregonese (April 8, 1908 in Mendoza – January 11, 1987 in Tigre) was an Argentine film director and screenwriter who worked both in Hollywood and his home country. He made his directorial debut in 1943. In 1949, he directed Apenas un delincuente.

Hugo Fregonese (Mendoza, 8 de abril de 1908 - Tigre, 11 de enero de 1987) fue un director cinematográfico argentino que trabajó en Hollywood, en Argentina y en Europa. Finalmente volvió a la Argentina, donde nunca gozó de mayor reconocimiento.
Hugo Fregonese was born on 8 April 1908 in Mendoza, Argentina. He was a director and writer, known for Hardly a Criminal (1949), My Six Convicts (1952) and Savage Pampas (1965). He was married to Faith Domergue. He died on 17 January 1987 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
