Hertford is home to a college cat named Simpkin, who lives in the Lodge.The entire lineage of Hertford College cats is called Simpkins. Undergraduate students are accommodated for the full three or four years of their study on the main site or on college-owned property primarily in North Oxford and the Folly Bridge area.

Hertford College est l'un des établissements constitutifs de l'université d'Oxford. Il se situe dans Catte Street, face à l'entrée principale de la bibliothèque Bodléienne . Ses deux bâtiments sont reliés par le Hertford Bridge, plus connu sous le sobriquet de pont des Soupirs , qui fut dessiné par l'architecte Thomas Graham Jackson.

She subsequently studied for a Master’s degree in Medieval Studies at Oxford.
