Henry FitzRoy, Duke of Richmond and Somerset (c. 15 June 1519 – 23 July 1536) was the son of Henry VIII of England and his mistress Elizabeth Blount, and the only child born out of wedlock whom Henry acknowledged. He was the younger half-brother of Mary I, as well as the older half-brother of Elizabeth I and Edward VI.

This is the only surviving portrait of Fitzroy, and was probably painted at the time of his marriage to a daughter of the Duke of Norfolk. It shows Fitzroy in a strikingly informal pose, wearing an open-necked shirt and an embroidered cap.

20 de jul. de 2019 · Henry FitzRoy was the son of Henry VIII's mistress Elizabeth "Bessie" Blount and a 17-year-old lady in waiting to Catherine of Aragon. He was born in 1519, died in 1536, and was the highest-ranking peer in the country. He married Lady Mary Howard, who died in 1557, and had a double dukedom. He was not a blood prince, but he could have been if Henry VIII had not died.
