  5. On the death of Baron Montagu in 1845, his Montagu estates reverted to the 5th Duke (d. 1884), who later settled Clitheroe and Beaulieu on his second son Henry John Douglas-Scott-Montagu, created Baron Montagu of Beaulieu in 1885, to whom Ditton also passed on his mother’s death in 1895.
