Henry John Douglas-Scott-Montagu, 1st Baron Montagu of Beaulieu JP, DL (5 November 1832 – 4 November 1905), styled Lord Henry Scott until 1885, was a British Conservative Party politician.
Lord Henry Francis Montagu-Douglas Scott (15 January 1868 – 19 April 1945) was a Scottish first-class cricketer and British Army officer. The fourth son of William Montagu Douglas Scott, 6th Duke of Buccleuch and his wife, Louisa Montagu Douglas Scott, he was born in January 1868 at Bowhill, Selkirkshire. [1]

William Douglas, 4th Duke of Queensberry never married; when he died on 23 December 1810, his peerages and entailments passed to his 2nd cousin once removed, Sir Henry Montagu Scott, 3rd Duke of Buccleuch, through Sir Henry's grandmother, Lady Jane Douglas, Queensberry's first cousin once removed.

On the death of Baron Montagu in 1845, his Montagu estates reverted to the 5th Duke (d. 1884), who later settled Clitheroe and Beaulieu on his second son Henry John Douglas-Scott-Montagu, created Baron Montagu of Beaulieu in 1885, to whom Ditton also passed on his mother’s death in 1895.

Baron Montagu of Beaulieu, in the County of Hampshire, is a title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. It was created in 1885 for the Conservative politician Lord Henry Montagu Douglas Scott, who had earlier represented Selkirkshire and South Hampshire in the House of Commons.
