Geelong Grammar School is an independent Anglican co-educational boarding and day school. It is Australia’s largest co-educational boarding school, spread across four specialist campuses. Opened on 1 October 1855, Geelong Grammar School was founded as a private venture intended to provide quality secondary education to the sons of Geelong’s burgeoning middle class, under the auspices of the Church of England. Five clergymen, including the first headmaster, George Vance, were founders and early supporters of the school.
