Opened on 1 October 1855, Geelong Grammar School was founded as a private venture intended to provide quality secondary education to the sons of Geelong’s burgeoning middle class, under the auspices of the Church of England. Five clergymen, including the first headmaster, George Vance, were founders and early supporters of the school.
Our School recognises that an education at Geelong Grammar School is a privilege for students and considered investment for families. Therefore, in addition to our significant scholarship programme , we also offer the following concessions and payment options to help support families.

Australia's largest co-educational boarding school, Geelong Grammar School provides for some 1650 girls and boys on its four campuses, including the renowned Timbertop Year 9 campus in the foothills of the Victorian Alps. Boarding is available from Years 5 to 12 with a weekly boarding option available in middle school (Years 5 to 8).
