It has a rich heritage of Romanesque and Renaissance architecture, a university with prestigious faculties, and a center for young creativity. Forlì is a city of 118,000 people (2017) in Emilia-Romagna. The city is on the Via Emilia, on the bank of the Montone river, and is an important agricultural centre. The city hosts some of Italy's culturally and artistically significant landmarks; it is also notable as the birthplace of painters Melozzo da Forlì and Marco Palmezzano.
