O mito de Selene e Endimião (também conhecido como Endymion), provindo da Mitologia Grega, não é muito fácil de recontar, pelo facto de se encontrar bem preso no meio de um conjunto infindável de versões distintas e histórias que nem sempre nos dizem a mesma coisa.

Endymion was a handsome shepherd, hunter or king in ancient Greek mythology, who lived in the region of Elis. He was the son of Zeus, and had legendary beauty. Selene, the Titan goddess of the moon, fell in love with him, and asked Zeus to give him eternal youth.
