Bessie's grandmother, through her mother, had been Isabel Stanley, daughter of Sir John Stanley, a distant relative of Lord Thomas Stanley whom had married Margaret Beaufort, Henry VII's mother.

Blount is an ancestor of Sophie, Countess of Wessex, who is the wife of Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, the youngest son of Queen Elizabeth II.
Elizabeth Blount ( c. 1498 / c. 1500 / c. 1502 - 1539/1540), comúnmente conocida durante su vida como Bessie Blount, fue una amante de Enrique VIII de Inglaterra. Blount era hija de Sir John Blount y Catherine Pershall, de Kinlet, Bridgnorth, Shropshire.

O pai de Elizabeth, Sir John Blount, era um fiel servo da Família Real Inglesa e acompanhou Henrique VIII à França em 1513, quando o Rei travou uma guerra contra Luís XII da França.
El 23 de julio de 1536, el hijo de Blount, Henry FitzRoy, murió, probablemente de tuberculosis ("tisis"). Su marido, Gilbert, Lord Tailboys, también falleció antes que ella, muriendo en 1530 pero dejándola viuda con medios económicos. Al casarse con Tailboys, tuvo tres hijos más, dos hijos, George y Robert, y una hija, Elizabeth.
