Lady Elish Frances Angiolini LT DBE KC FRSA FRSE (née McPhilomy; born 24 June 1960) is a Scottish lawyer who currently serves as Lord Clerk Register. Angiolini has worked at the University of Oxford since 2012 and has been identified as a potential candidate in the 2024 University of Oxford Chancellor election.
The Angiolini Inquiry is led by Lady Elish Angiolini, a former Lord Advocate of Scotland. It examines how a police officer raped and killed a woman, and how to improve policing and protect women.
Lady Elish is currently Chair of the Public Inquiry into the abduction, rape and murder of Sarah Everard. Elish Angiolini grew up in Govan in Glasgow and studied Law at the University of Strathclyde, graduating in 1982.
