RESUMO. O modelo estático de Einstein foi o primeiro modelo cosmológico relativista. O modelo é estático, finito e de simetria espacial esférica. Utilizo a solução das equações de campo de Einstein, em um universo homogêneo e isotrópico -a equação de Friedmann -, para calcular o raio de curvatura deste modelo, denominado universo de Einstein.
