Edwin Booth was a famous Shakespearean actor and the brother of John Wilkes Booth, Abraham Lincoln's assassin. He toured throughout the US and Europe, and founded his own theatre in New York. He saved Robert Todd Lincoln's life in 1865, and was a Unionist and Lincoln supporter.
