Des O'Connor Tonight. Des O'Connor Tonight is a British light entertainment variety show hosted by Des O'Connor. It was originally broadcast on BBC2 from 1977 until 1982, when it moved to ITV from 1 November 1983 until 3 September 1999. Six further specials were broadcast until 24 December 2002 when it was axed after nearly 26 years.

Between 1977 and 2002, O'Connor presented his own chat show series entitled Des O'Connor Tonight which lasted for seven series on BBC Two and later seventeen on ITV. From 1992 to 1998 O'Connor presented the game show Take Your Pick! where he met fourth wife Jodie Wilson. In 1995 and 1997 O'Connor compèred the Royal Variety Performance.

Des O'Connor introduces the first show in a series that would run regularly for the next 22 years. With laughs from Les Dawson and two musical guests, Des wasn't happy with his own performance, later calling it "absolutely awful".
