The Defence Helicopter Flying School (DHFS) was a military flying school based at RAF Shawbury in Shropshire, England. The school, established in 1997, was a tri-service organisation and trained helicopter aircrews for all three British armed forces.

5 de fev. de 2024 · The Defence Helicopter Flying School formed at RAF Shawbury to consolidate the helicopter training of all three services. 2 Flight Training Squadron of the RAF, 705 Naval Air Squadron and 670 Army Air Corps Squadron amalgamated in the new School.
In February 2020, the Defence Helicopter Flying School based at RAF Shawbury in Shropshire, was renamed No. 1 Flying Training School and operates 29 Airbus H135 'Juno' and 3 Airbus H145 'Jupiter'.
23 de ago. de 2019 · ON 23 August 2019, a total of 22 tri-Service aircrew graduated from the Defence Helicopter Flying School (DHFS) at RAF Shawbury. The parade celebrated both the graduation of the first 13 pilots to complete their training within the Rotary Wing UK Military Flying Training System (UKMFTS) as well as the graduation of 9 helicopter Rearcrew.
No. 1 Flying Training School (No. 1 FTS) (formerly the Defence Helicopter Flying School) provides basic helicopter pilot training for the RAF, Royal Navy and Army Air Corps (AAC), as well as foreign and commonwealth countries, using twenty-nine Airbus Juno HT1.
2 de set. de 2019 · New simulators, training aircraft and buildings are all part of the upgrade at RAF Shawbury which is now considered a world-leader in its field. The upgraded facilities were only opened in April and the Defence Helicopter Flying School has already seen its first set of pilots graduate.
