Há 1 dia · David Crockett (August 17, 1786 – March 6, 1836) was an American folk hero, frontiersman, soldier, and politician. He is often referred to in popular culture as the "King of the Wild Frontier". He represented Tennessee in the U.S. House of Representatives and served in the Texas Revolution .

Crockett lost the election, which came as a surprise to him and led to a legendary quote attributed to him while visiting a tavern. Davy told the patrons they had “elected a man with a Timber Toe, so you can go to hell, and I will go to Texas.”.
